"How to Catch a Lightning Bug"

A celebration of nature and a core childhood memory, "How to Catch a Lightning Bug" is about a mother teaching her young son how to safely catch and release lightning bugs. It is encouragement to believe in yourself and take care of one of nature's most majestical insects.

This book is a call to the reader to get outside! Because as quickly as they come, the fireflies will soon be gone. In the final pages, you'll find fun facts and tips to successfully catch lightning bugs of your own!

About Sierra Barnett

Sierra Barnett is a life-long Tennessean who is rediscovering what it means to be a Southerner through the eyes of her young sons. To her, it means showing southern hospitality to all, appreciation for and preservation of nature and creating loving memories and traditions with family. Her first book, "How to Catch a Lightning Bug" celebrates a favorite childhood memory.

This Appalachian mama grew up climbing trees, gardening, sewing, and of course, catching lightning bugs alongside her brother and cousins at Mamaw Mac's house in Rogersville, Tennessee. She now resides on the lake in Middle Tennessee with her adoring husband, Kevin and their two curious sons, Cruze and Jett. Together, they enjoy outings on the lake, collecting shells and feathers, watching the sun rise and set, and the show of diverse wildlife where they live.

The magic of nature is endless!
